Hvis klient kan sende en wake-on-lan så var det en mulighed.

I ubuntu kan man installere etherwake og wakeonlan.

jeg har dog sparet det meste væk med xxxwakeonlanconfig
og blot tilfjet lidt til /etc/rc.local :

 # enable wake on lan
 ethtool -s eth0 wol g
